How are our silver mirrors colored?

All silver mirrors are hand-colored in Italy with silver leaf metal in our exclusive mirror workshops.
This makes each silver mirror unique and exclusive. These mirrors can only be ordered at barokspiegel.nl.

A beautiful silver mirror frame is colored with silver leaf metal. Because this is done with thin sheets, you can see the craftsmanship, also it gives the silver mirror frame extra character and value.

Bright silver is the pure silver leaf without any processing, it looks like stainless steel color.

Antique silver is silver leaf metal, patinated afterwards.
The patination can be done with a bronze tone or a black patina.

Silver is hallmarked with silver leaf metal and finished with a champagne colored lacquer. This best matches the original silver color, as real silver is always mixed with 20% copper (3rd grade). This gives real silver always a slightly yellowish glow.
